ALUMINUM FABRICATION
Aluminum is a valuable metal for many project components thanks to its light weight, corrosion resistance and ductility. At Mid-Atlantic Steel Fabrication, we work with aluminum to create custom parts based on your project demands.
Our Aluminum Fabrication Services
The skilled team at Mid-Atlantic Steel Fabrication can perform the following services to create aluminum parts:
- Laser cutting: When you need a clean, precise edge on your aluminum piece, our experts provide laser cutting. This process works well for complex parts with strict tolerances, and its precision minimizes material waste. As a result, we can save your company money while making a highly accurate part.
- Metal cutting: Our metal cutting services are another core aluminum fabricating process. We use this process when working with aluminum tube, pipe and bar stock. This service works well for both prototyping quantities and high-volume runs, helping you meet your project timeline requirements at any scale.
- CNC forming: The CNC forming process involves many methods for creating aluminum parts. Our technicians can use bending, roll forming and other techniques to create pieces that meet project specifications.
- Welding: We provide welding services for various applications. Our welders can work with your aluminum parts to create additional support for the components, add decorative elements, introduce tight tolerances and more. Our team uses metal inert gas (MIG) and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding methods.
To supplement our aluminum fabrication expertise, we also provide CAD services to create and modify part designs. Plus, with countersinking and tapping services and powder coating capabilities, we ensure you have a well-finished part when fabrication is complete.
Custom Aluminum Fabrication Capabilities
You may need a custom aluminum part for any range of reasons. With Mid-Atlantic Steel Fabrication, you can create the component you need with the utmost precision. We work with your team to determine the specifications and tolerances for your piece to ensure it performs safely and consistently. We can also supplement our fabrication solutions with a 3D engineering plan.
Our team is capable of reworking existing part designs or starting from scratch. Explore our project gallery to see the work we’ve created for clients in the past.
While our expert team provides expertise for every custom project, our equipment helps us achieve the accuracy you need for your aluminum component. With the TRUMPF TruLaser 3030, we cut aluminum pieces up to .375 inches thick. The TRUMPF TruBend 5130 allows us to work with a bending force of up to 140 tons, and our HYDMECH S-20A band saw supports a rectangular cutting capacity of up to 13 inches by 18 inches.
How We Fabricate New Products With Aluminum
Our aluminum fabrication process varies widely based on a project’s specifications. We may use one or several of our services to create your part — we’ll decide which methods will benefit your project based on the design you provide or the one we create. Often, the first step involves cutting parts to size with our laser cutter or band saw. From there, we can make smaller, more detailed laser cuts or modify the piece with CNC forming and welding.
We work with a wide range of aluminum alloys, and our team can help you select the right alloy for your project’s needs. Whether you need something with high formability or exceptional corrosion resistance, we can find the right aluminum material for you. Our fabrication services extend to all types of aluminum forms, including:
- Sheet metal
- Rods
- Tubes
- Bars
